Digital Railway Art

Hello & welcome to Jerrard Lockett Digital Railway Artist, originally from Macclesfield Cheshire England, born 1970. Studied at Mid-Cheshire College in B-TEC Photography and also a degree in photography from Staffordshire University.

My interest in railways came about through my father at a young age. This has continued into my adulthood as a passion, but as time passed, my interest waned as life events came then went and seemed to take over along with dull, low paid jobs.

The seed to my railway photography came about when I was 14, taking photos at night evoking the atmosphere not seen during the day.  This lay dormant from that younger age when In 2018, at a loss with myself, I got inspired by Don Breckon’s Country Connections book which followed on to Terence Cuneo and Philip D Hawkins Artists.

The Process

The basis of the digital art work is formed from a photograph which I have taken personally. The art work is then edited on computer software, therefore creating my own personal painting style.
